We are going back to EXPO Chicago (section EXPOSURE) this year with works by Haseeb Ahmed and Ella Littwitz.
Both Haseeb Ahmed and Ella Littwitz maintain research-based practices dealing with phenomenon that shape our everyday lives. Using material often only accessible to scientists, each artist explores its aesthetic, metaphorical and critical grounds utilizing findings in cross-disciplinary narrative works. While Haseeb tends for an anthropological and actively networked approach that allows access to cutting edge techniques, to date Ella has tended for a calmer form of archival and literary reflection in all projects with the exception of the “Land of the Unknown South,” where she mobilized a network of friends, acquaintances and strangers.

Ella Littwitz’s solo exhibition “And a third of the waters became wormwood”, opening on Wednesday, April 18th, 2018 from 17:30 to 20:30
Ella Littwitz’s first solo exhibition with Harlan Levey Projects, which opens during the Art Brussels Gallery Night, continues a line of investigation into cultural, political and natural geographies established throughout her past work. Work presented in the exhibition specifically addresses human migration and nationalism in the Mediterranean area, investigating the dual nature of this geographic feature to the extent that it connects and separates, acting as both a junction as well as a barrier between the Global North and South.

Ella Littwitz will be part of a group exhibition “The State is Not a Work of Art” at Tallinn Art Hall, February 16 to April 29, 2018.
The exhibition explores notions of identity, belonging and collective memory whilst also interrogating the recent rise in nationalism in Europe and the increasingly overt tribalism in today’s globalised societies.
Harlan Levey Projects is in Booth E1 at the Untitled Art Fair with works by Marcin Dudek, TR Ericsson, Ella Littwitz and Emmanuel Van der Auwera.
Ella Littwitz is exhibiting her work in the group exhibition Site at Petach Tikva Museum of Art , running from 14 September to 16 December 2017.
