In his seminal 1986 exhibition Chambres d’Amis, Jan Hoet proposed that art belongs in life - not just in institutions or galleries, but in living rooms, in conversations, amongst friends. Forty years later, that proposition remains as urgent as ever.
This project honors and reimagines that exhibition, using its proposition as a point of departure to open space for cultural gatherings, unusual exhibitions and intellectual exchange. In each edition, the artist, curator and host change. What remains constant is a shared curiosity and a commitment to art, poetry, and hospitality.
