This wall-based sculpture incorporates a Jesmonite cast of the back of a balaclava worn by Dudek during his youth while attending football matches. The reverse of the head opens onto a folkloric portrait rendered on cork, which in turn reveals a superimposed image of the artist and his father. The work traces an inherited line between Dudek’s turbulent adolescence and his father’s struggle to find work after leaving the militia, folding personal history into a layered meditation on masculinity, authority, and continuity.
