The five works of the Klatka series unfold like small altar-like structures, manuscripts or folded journals, each recording fragments of life on and around the council estate. Together, they form an environment where memory and imagination overlap, and the past persists as an affective, dreamlike presence rather than a closed narrative.
This piece reflects the “klatka” itself - the entrance of the building, a literal cage, and a social hub where youth gathered. Collaged images show the Dudek apartment on the ground floor, spaces for so-called “problem families,” and the surrounding estate. Concrete slabs and a basketball hoop serve as makeshift playgrounds, while glass mosaics that once adorned the façade are echoed in the collaged medical tape squares. Small smoke halos, created by matches stuck to the ceiling and lit by local youths, punctuate the panel, recalling the playful rituals of adolescence.
