After its international premiere at the 2024 Vienna Shorts Film Festival, Emmanuel Van der Auwera's film White Cloud was awarded an Honorable Mention for Artistic Achievement in the FIDO Fiction & Documentary International Competition. To quote the jury:
"The first Special Mention is for a film of the present and the future, delivered like an environmental documentary, a horror film, and a science fiction tale. A brilliant take on the dangers, possibilities, and uncanny valley of AI, with a mind-blowing aesthetic to illustrate a brave new world. This Special Mention goes to White Cloud by Emmanuel Van der Auwera."
