Emmanuel Van der Auwera will present his VideoSculpture XXX (The Gospel) in In and Out of Place. Land after Information 1992 – 2024, a group show at Kunstverein Hamburg, running from September 6th to December 1st, 2024.
In and Out of Place. Land after Information 1992 - 2024 originates in an artistic examination of land and soil, ongoing since documenta IX (1992). Against the background of the German reunification, an accelerated information economy and emerging multi-perspectivity, the exhibition seeks to bring into dialogue historic and contemporary positions arising from the transforming relationship between periphery and centre. The Kunstverein brings together positions whose common concern is to examine the connections between land and its translation as a carrier of resources and culture in the medium of art, where the works examine different proximities to dealing with, knowing about, and processing land.
