EXHIBITION | SEAN CROSSLEY

Sean Crossley presents 36 paintings in a new solo exhibition at FUTURES Gallery, Melbourne. Opening Saturday, November 30th from 4–6 pm, Excess/Support: Liquidity and Mediation marks Crossley’s first exhibition with the gallery and the Australian launch of his publication Excess/Support.

 

This selection of works, drawn from a four-year investigation (2019 - 2023), positions painting as a site of inquiry and experimentation. Oscillating between realism and abstraction, the works reconfigure familiar subjects—faces, objects, and typography—into layered painterly systems. Organized into two thematic subcategories, Liquidity and Mediation, the exhibition reflects Crossley’s ongoing interrogation of form, process, and perception.
