Booth 5C-41
In conjunction with the gallery exhibition, Harlan Levey Projects will showcase a solo booth featuring Emmanuel Van der Auwera’s latest works at Art Brussels. Highlights include the new VideoSculpture Medusa 12.14.12 and the final pieces from his Memento series. These works are part of an ongoing project reflecting on the misinformation surrounding the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting. Van der Auwera investigates the aftermath of this tragedy, dissecting the conspiracies it sparked as early indicators of the shift into our post-truth era.
Elsewhere in the fair, Van der Auwera’s award-winning short film White Cloud will screen at "The Screen" on Saturday, April 26, at 12:30. Curated by Eliel Jones (Curator of Performance and Time-based Media at KANAL-Centre Pompidou) and Brussels-based filmmaker Alex Reynolds, this selection highlights key works of contemporary video art. Van der Auwera, along with gallery artist Haseeb Ahmed will also feature in "Back to the Future", a project of the Belgian Art Prize curated by Emmanuel Lambion in conversation with Charlotte Crevits, commemorating the 75th anniversary of this prestigious award.
Art Brussels will take place from 24 to 27 April 2025 at Brussels Expo.
