AWARD | ELLA LITTWITZ

Beatrice Culliner Award for Young Israeli Artists

Ella Littwitz has been awarded the prestigious Beatrice Culliner Award for her profound, research-based sculptural installations. Her work spans a variety of techniques, including original sculptures in unconventional materials, found objects (objets trouvés), ready-mades, photography, video, and sound.

Littwitz’s installations explore landscape and geopolitical themes, questioning the boundaries of artistic practice. Her research focuses on sites of geographical, national, and religious significance, such as Qasr el-Yehud and the Dead Sea, examining the displacement of objects from their natural contexts into artistic spaces.

By integrating elements like boundary stones, minefield markers, and bronze replicas of plants, Littwitz bridges the organic and the man-made. Her engagement with ready-mades and regional issues has earned her the Beatrice Culliner Award for a Young Israeli Artist.
