FESTIVAL | HASEEB AHMED

Les Safra'Numériques 2025, Amiens
Haseeb Ahmed is showing The Library of the Winds in the festival Les Safra'Numériques 2025, from March 18th to 22nd.  This festival takes place at the cultural center Le Safran, in Amiens, France.

"The wind, an invisible force, ushers in both chaos and change.

The Library of the Winds offers an experience in which air and its effects are transformed into a sensory and poetic exploration. At the heart of the installation, a drawing machine powered by compressed air designates one of the world's great winds, which is then immediately recreated by automated eoliphones. These instruments, descendants of those used in theater and opera since the 16th century, reproduce with precision the breath of the chosen wind.
Just as the Earth's rotation sets its winds in motion, The Library of the Winds turns, evoking a dreamlike carousel. Although the wind is physically absent, its impact on our senses is omnipresent: hearing, sight and orientation are subtly put to the test, reminding us of the power of this elusive element."
