"The Musée de l'Hospice Comtesse will host the exhibition The Distorted Party. A former religious institution offering care and shelter to those in need, the site is imbued with ambivalences which are reflected in the exhibition's themes: celebration and reflection, chaos and beauty, distortion and clarity.

The Distorted Party rethinks celebration and conviviality in the light of contemporary challenges: climate change, social inequality, political instability and the anxieties that persist in a post-covid world. These shadows underline the fragility of human existence, and contrast with the moments of celebration. The euphoria of these moments is sometimes accompanied by underlying questions or unease, creating the surreal image of a subterranean festival.

More than a historical sanctuary, the Hospice Comtesse becomes a canvas on which the senses of celebration are intertwined and renewed. The peaceful architecture of the site contrasts sharply with the modern scenography and the overflowing, sometimes disturbing energy of the works."
