For his first solo exhibition at CAP, Centre d’art de Saint-Fons, Emmanuel Van der Auwera presents Saturn, an ensemble of recent works and new productions. Through his Video Sculptures and cinematic devices, the artist continues his investigation into the production, circulation, and manipulation of images, focusing on how media and historical events are reframed in an era defined by post-truth and artificial intelligence.
At CAP, a two-part installation expands Van der Auwera’s ongoing research into the visual vocabulary of mass media, disinformation, and the architectures of conspiracy narratives. The exhibition takes as its point of departure a news story whose media trajectory was both unexpected and unprecedented, unfolding into questions of online radicalization, anonymity on social networks, and strategies of de-identification.
