For Art Basel Miami Beach 2025, Harlan Levey Projects is pleased to present VideoSculpture XX (The World's 6th Sense) by Emmanuel Van der Auwera, which will be shown inside of the Meridians sector, curated by Yasmil Raymond. 

 

The dissected screens of this VideoSculpture play footage of Las Vegas, as captured by thermal cameras. This cold, grayscale display of unaware civilians was originally produced by the makers of this military technology, in order to sell their product; the spyware images are reclaimed by Van der Auwera, in order to reflect on the aesthetics of surveillance.
