Works by TR Ericsson will be featured in the upcoming group exhibition at SCAD Museum of Art titled “Frederick Douglass: Embers of Freedom,” centred around the figure and archive of the influential 19th century abolitionist. The show, curated by Humberto Moro III, opens on October 3rd. This exhibition features manuscripts, letters and photographs from the Douglass Family Archive in conversation with modern and contemporary works by renowned artists, including Jacob Lawrence, Betye Saar and Charles White, as well as new commissions by Onyedika Chuke, TR Ericsson, Glyneisha Johnson, Le'Andra LeSeur, and Charles Edward Williams.
